Waterside Inn

Nice hotel, in a good location along the bay, close to downtown Chincoteague. The breakfast is very good, hot and fresh daily. There are only a few tables and chairs in the office to eat at breakfast, some mornings we were able to eat there, other days we took our breakfast back to our room and ate on the balcony. Love the different rose bushes in front of the hotel. The staff are very helpful and kind. A very relaxing place to stay. There are a variety of shops and restaurants within reasonable walking distance. I enjoyed that every room had a balcony view of water of some sort. This place is a hidden gem of a hotel.

I shared a room with my aunt, unexpectedly. We were out of town for a homegoing service. When I realized I was staying there, I was reluctant. I'm terrified of bedbugs & I don't sleep away from home often. I Immediatley inspected the room. Imagine my surprise to find the room thoroughly cleaned. They had matress encasements on the bed, a coffee maker, an iron, & ironing board, hangers in the closet. There was a beautiful distant view of the water from the room. Peace, & quiet surrounded the atmosphere. The water ran full stream, from the faucets, there were two sinks, & the water was nice & hot. I was so impressed. If you're ever in this part of town, & you're not really looling for flash, & a lot going on You should absolutely give this place a stay. Very beautiful experience staying here. Shout Out to the staff, & management!!!

I've been to the area before but did more research this trip while choosing where to stay. I noticed the Waterside Inn has better reviews than others nearby. And now I know why. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. Fridge, microwave and small coffee maker (and coffee) in our room plus a table and chairs. Bed was comfortable, very nice bathroom and shower with tub. Spend a bit extra and get a water view room with a sliding glass door and balcony. And they offer breakfast every morning included. We'll be going back again and I doubt we'll ever consider staying anywhere else. Special thanks to Ruth Ann.

Was a slow time of year (off season). The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was clean and looked fresh. The desk staff was helpful with place to go and things to do and the young lady making the breakfast was was courteous and friendly with a smile! Looking forward to another visit.

Room and HVAC were a bit dated, but very clean. Didn't have the typical musty smell of a waterfront hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, but both looked really clean.

Our stay was fantastic! This hotel gives “old school beach town” vibes. The rooms are older but updated where necessary (i.e. has microwaves, mini fridge, usb plugs and a decent sized TV). Room was clean and cool but we did run into a fly or two…which is part of the Chincoteague charm that you can’t escape. A fly swatter is located in each room. The location of this hotel is perfect with every room having a balcony view of water of some sort and the pool and pier are just awesome. We watched the sunset from the pool both nights. Expect to take your breakfast back to your room as there are only a few tables and chairs in the office to eat at. But honestly if you have kids with you like we did that’s probably the best place to eat anyways! Overall this place is a hidden gem of a hotel as long as you’re not someone that prefers chain hotels on your stay. If you’re into comfort, charm and amazing views this is the place for you!

I have been staying at Waterside for the past 30+ years. The view of the sunset from the private dock or your balcony are breathtaking. The rooms are always clean and the beds are very comfy. The pool is an added plus and you can't beat being right by the water. Everyone I have encountered from staff to guests are amazingly friendly. We have sat by the pool talking to complete strangers like we have known them forever. A nice breakfast is available and there are picnic tables that you can eat at. Don't pass this gem up!
